Drug Formulation

1 jin of sesame oil, 1 jin of tung oil, 1 liang of human hair.

From *Secrets of the Medicine Chest*.

Processing

First, heat the sesame oil in a pot until it boils several times; then add the tung oil and human hair residue and melt them together. Add 12 liang of purified Huangdan and stir continuously with a willow stick. Simmer over low heat until the ointment reaches the proper consistency—neither too thick nor too thin—then place it in cold water to cool. Store in a porcelain container for future use.

When using, melt the ointment over a water bath and apply as a poultice.
