Drug Formulation

1 liang and a half of calcined and ground Hua Rui Shi, half a liang of realgar (separated by paper and rinsed with boiling water to extract the white residue), 1 liang of cinnamon bark (ground separately),1 liang of Frankincense, 1 liang of Dried Ginger, 2 liang of Cardamom, half a liang of Red Beans, 100 Mylabris beetles, 7 dog gallbladders from the 12th lunar month, 1 sheng of fresh Rehmannia root juice, 1 sheng of children’s urine, and 300 snake-green beetles (remove the heads, legs, and wings from both the Mylabris beetles and snake-green beetles; stir-fry them together with 1 sheng of glutinous rice until golden yellow; discard the rice).

Processing

Grind the above ingredients into a fine powder. Simmer the three juices together to form a paste, then mix the paste with the powder to form pills the size of a chicken’s head, and coat them with cinnabar.

Instructions for Use

Take 1 pill at a time; chew it until broken up and swallow it with warm wine before meals; rice porridge may also be used.
