Drug Formulation

10 Xiangqi (if not fragrant, use the peel instead; finely chopped), 1 jin Achyranthes root (stem removed, finely chopped), 4 liang Mu Li, 2 liang Prunus mume seeds, 2 autumn-ripened yellow eggplants (seeds removed, finely chopped).

Processing

Place the ingredients in an iron mortar, pound until well blended, shape into a ball, place in a jar, cover the opening with a tile, leaving a small hole, seal with salt mud, and fire until thoroughly red-hot. Stop heating when the smoke turns white, remove from the fire, cover with fresh soil for one fu, then remove and add 1 qian of musk; grind together again until fine.

Instructions for Use

Each morning, apply it to the painful area of the tooth; wait a moment, then rinse your mouth with warm water. Before bedtime, apply a small amount again; it is also fine to swallow the saliva.
