Drug Formulation

14 pieces of the flesh of the Chinese toad, 81 Mylabris beetles, 49 cun of willow twigs (or add 3 qian of donkey carapace, 1 qian of Aconitum carmichaeli, and 1 liang of sesame oil).

Processing

Soak for 7 days, then simmer over low heat until charred; remove the dregs, add 3 liang of croton seeds, decoct until the seeds turn black, pour into a mortar, grind into a paste, add 1 fen of musk and stir well, then store in a jar for future use.

Instructions for Use

Apply this ointment to swollen sores on the verge of rupturing; pus will be drawn out through the pores. For sores that have already been lanced, dip a cotton swab in the ointment and insert it into the opening to draw out the pus. If stagnant pus and necrotic tissue remain, applying this ointment will cause them to dissolve immediately.
