Benefits

For all kinds of deficiency and debility, exhaustion of qi and blood, and conditions arising from chronic and severe illness that have led to diaphragmatic qi stagnation, stabbing pain in the flanks, a sensation of fullness and obstruction in the chest and heart, undigested food in the stomach, belching and vomiting of water, regurgitation of food, hard and constipated stools, and emaciation and wasting of the body—to the point where the condition is nearly beyond salvation.

Instructions for Use

Measure the ingredients according to the cold and warm properties, mix them in a vessel, and wait until the mixture has settled and become clear. Then add 6 jin of thin malt syrup. Wait until the dregs have been removed; the liquid will naturally separate into a clear upper layer and a settled lower layer to form a decoction. Over the course of 12 shichen (day and night), divide the dose into three portions:one dose per period. After the medicinal properties have settled, wait one hour, then take one bowl of the warm decoction. Wait another hour, then consume several pieces of white malt syrup. Take three doses daily, regardless of day or night, with both the decoction and malt syrup administered nine times in total. The preparation of food and decoction should follow the same principles as described earlier for cooking medicinal foods.
