Drug Formulation

2.5 liang of Huanliancao (there are two varieties of this herb: one resembles a purple chrysanthemum and is used by travelers for heating; the other variety was first recognized by people from the north. In the *Compendium of Materia Medica*, it is called “Li Chang Cao”; in *Sun Qiren’s Thousand Gold Prescriptions*, it is called “Jinling Cao”; and people from Zhejiang call it “Lianzi Cao” because its seeds resemble small lotus seed heads),3 liang of sesame cake (this is the dried cake left after pressing sesame oil), 20 chebulic myrobalan fruits (grind them with their pits), 3 dingt of unwormed soapberry pods, 2 liang of silkworm sand, 3.5 liang of rock salt, and 3.5 liang of Sichuan cimicifuga.

Processing

Grind the ingredients into a fine powder. Mix with vinegar to form a thin paste, then shape into pills the size of marbles. Roll them into cakes and either bake or sun-dry until completely dry. First, prepare a narrow-mouthed porcelain jar or jar, seal it with paper-fiber clay, and let it dry in the sun. Place the medicine cakes inside the jar, seal the opening with yellow clay, and let it cool. Remove the medicine the next day.

Instructions for Use

Take a few pills at a time, grind them into a fine powder, and use this as a tooth-cleaning agent morning and evening, rinsing with warm water. When using the tooth-cleaning agent, wait a short while before rinsing. Long-term use yields tremendous benefits.
