Drug Formulation
1 yellow hen (plucked, gutted, and cleaned), 1 sheng of japonica rice, 1 liang of astragalus (chopped), and 1.5 liang of prepared dried rehmannia.

Instructions for Use
Boil all ingredients together until very tender; remove the herbs and pick out the chicken bones. Combine the broth and meat with the rice to cook into congee. Add soy sauce and season as described in the dietary guidelines; consume on an empty stomach. It may also be prepared as soup or wonton soup and eaten as desired.
