Drug Formulation
5 fen of ox bile, 5 fen of cloves, 5 fen of soapwort, 1 qian of amber (select only firm and dry pieces), 1 qian of curcuma, 1 qian of raw cow’s milk, 5 qian and 5 fen of cinnabar, 5 qian and 5 fen of realgar, 5 qian and 5 fen of moonflower, 5 qian and 5 fen of white fresh bark, 5 qian and 5 fen of frankincense,5 qian 5 fen of Sichuan Manis, 2 qian of processed rhubarb, and 4 qian of stiff silkworm.

Method for Preparing Processed Raw Milk: Calcine and refine arsenic trioxide 3 qian, mica 2 qian 5 fen, sodium carbonate (i.e., basin soda) 1 liang 6 qian, cinnabar solution (i.e., cinnabar water; pink in color is superior) 9 qian 6 fen, Shanxi alum 1 liang 2 qian, green alum 1 liang 8 qian, table salt half a liang, dried alum 5 qian 6 fen,3 qian 5 fen of green salt. Grind all the above ingredients together until no particles remain visible. Place the mixture in a tin-lined sheep’s-wool pot. Heat over a “three-sides-one-top” fire until the ingredients dissolve. When a frost-like layer forms on the surface, remove from the heat. Allow to cool, then cover tightly with an iron bowl and seal with salt mud. Once the mud around the pot’s rim has dried, place the pot in a Bagua furnace. Start with a gentle flame; when the bottom of the bowl is slightly warm,lightly moisten it with water, add charcoal to level with the rim, and apply high heat. Remove from the heat after three full bursts of fragrance. First, take 2 qian of licorice and 2 qian of soapwort, decoct them into a concentrated decoction, and collect the white cinnabar from the bottom of the bowl. Wrap it in cotton paper, soak it in the decoction for a short while, then remove it. Bury it, paper and all, in the soil for three days and nights. Take it out and dry it in the sun. For every liang, add 7 li of ice crystal, 7 li of musk,9 fen of cinnabar. Grind all ingredients together until extremely fine. Separately, dissolve 1 qian 2 fen of frankincense in boiling water, then mix it thoroughly with the powder to form pills, each weighing 1 qian 1 fen. Seal each pill with yellow wax; this preparation is known as “Shengsheng Ru.”

Instructions for Use
Grind the above ingredients into a fine powder. Mix with 5 qian of Shenqu powder to form a thick paste, then incorporate the medicinal powder and pound thoroughly to form pills the size of a Paulownia seed. Grind cinnabar separately to serve as a coating. Take 13 pills every morning on an empty stomach and 9 pills every evening on an empty stomach, washed down with ginseng decoction; roasted rice decoction may also be used. Concurrently, take a decoction for general tonification. As the illness subsides, gradually reduce the dosage; however, if residual pathogenic factors remain, do not discontinue the medication.
Note
Avoid strenuous labor and intense anger for 100 days. Follow the seasonal rhythms in your regimen.
