Drug Formulation

1 liang of ginseng, 1 liang of mulberry mistletoe, 1 liang 5 qian of silkworm sand, 1 liang of raw rehmannia, 1 liang of eucommia, 1 liang of续断, 1 liang of donkey-hide gelatin, 5 qian of sanguisorba, 2 liang of angelica, 2 liang of prepared rehmannia, and 1 liang of amomum.

Processing

Soak the above herbs in 1 jin and a half of sesame oil seasonally. Simmer the mixture over a mulberry wood fire until the herbs are completely dried out, then strain out the residue. Add 12 liang of sifted cinnabar and 2 liang of Huang Zhan to form a paste. Remove from heat, then add 7 qian of purple quartz (calcined and quenched in vinegar), 7 qian of red cinnabar (calcined), and 3 qian of dragon bone (calcined). Grind these into a fine powder, mix thoroughly into the paste, and store.

Instructions for Use

Apply as a poultice: For those who habitually miscarry in the third month, begin applying the poultice to the waist area one month in advance, changing it every seven days to ensure a safe pregnancy past the third-month mark; thereafter, change it every half-month until the tenth month is complete, with absolute reliability. For seminal emission, urinary discharge, and amenorrhea, apply to the Shenshu (BL23) acupoint and the Lower Dan Tian; for all other conditions, apply directly to the affected area.
