Micropenis refers to a condition in which an adult male’s penis is short and thin, resembling that of an immature state, making normal sexual intercourse impossible and thus resulting in infertility.
The primary manifestation of micropenis is abnormal size rather than abnormal opening. In other words, the position of the urethral meatus is normal, and the penis can be distinguished into its glans and shaft. The size of the testicles may also be normal.
I. Causes of Micropenis
The etiology of micropenis is not entirely clear at present. It is generally believed to be related to insufficient androgen secretion during the 6th to 9th months after pregnancy. However, micropenis may also occur in association with other wellness. These conditions manifest as abnormalities in the hypothalamus or pituitary gland, such as brain wellness, congenital absence of the pituitary gland, abnormal testicular development, chromosomal abnormalities, etc.
In traditional Chinese medicine, the penis and testicles are referred to as the external Kidneys, while the Kidneys are called the internal Kidneys. The Kidneys are considered the foundation of congenital constitution in humans, storing the essence and qi inherited from one’s parents. They govern the body’s growth, development, and reproductive functions. If there is a congenital deficiency, with Kidney essence being depleted, not only will growth and development be affected, but the development of the external Kidneys, namely the penis, will also inevitably be impaired, resulting in underdevelopment. Furthermore, if in youth…
Excessive masturbation during adolescence severely depletes the immature Kidney essence. Over time, this leads to Kidney essence deficiency, which not only hinders growth and development but also results in underdevelopment of the penis and testicles due to insufficient nourishment from the Kidney essence.
II. Syndrome Differentiation and Dietary Therapy
This condition is mostly related to congenital dysplasia, early marriage, excessive masturbation, and Kidney damage after wellness. Its main manifestations include a significantly short and thin penis, or accompanied by sexual dysfunction, gradual regression of male characteristics, sparse pubic hair, lack of energy, decreased libido, fatigue, and a thin and weak pulse. If it is due to congenital dysplasia, supports is relatively difficult. For those who acquire it later in life, taking traditional Chinese medicine or dietary therapy formulas that nourish the Kidney and replenish essence can have certain therapeutic effects. One can take Chicken and Duck Kidney with Cat’s Ear Floss Soup.
Formula and Preparation Method: 10 chicken Kidneys, 10 duck Kidneys, 30 cat-ear shaped noodles, 1 bowl of concentrated pork bone broth, a pinch of shredded ham, 1 tablespoon of starch paste, an appropriate amount of minced ginger, minced green onion whites, pepper, and salt. First, clean the chicken and duck Kidneys, place them in a pot, scald briefly with boiling water, then remove and gently peel off the outer membranes. Moisten flour with water to make 30 cat-ear shaped noodles; the quantity can be increased as needed for larger appetites. Meanwhile, cut the ham into fine shreds. Bring the prepared concentrated pork bone broth to a boil in a pot, add the cat-ear shaped noodles first, and after they are cooked, add the ground pepper, salt, shredded ham, and chicken and duck Kidneys, and cook together for about 5 minutes. Then, add the starch paste to thicken the broth into a velvety consistency, transfer to a bowl, sprinkle with minced ginger and minced green onion whites, mix well, and it is ready to serve. In the formula, chicken and duck testes are the testicles of chickens and ducks, rich in testosterone and of high nutritional value, making them a top-notch choice for tonifying the Kidney. The materials are easy to source and convenient to prepare. Pork bones and ham nourish yin and benefit the marrow. Therefore, this formula is suitable for conditions such as impotence and infertility due to Kidney-yang deficiency and decline, and can also be used for congenital hypoplasia and shortness of the penis.
One can also take Ginseng Venison Soup. Formula and preparation method: 5 grams each of ginseng, astragalus root, gorgon fruit, and wolfberry fruit; 3 grams each of white atractylodes rhizome, poria, prepared rehmannia root, cistanche, cassia bark, white peony root, sharpleaf galangal fruit, epimedium herb, curculigo rhizome, alisma rhizome, spiny date seed, dioscorea, polygala root, Chinese angelica root, dodder seed, cyathula root, and ginger; 250 grams of venison, and appropriate amounts of green onion, pepper powder, and salt. Preparation method: First,
Remove the tendons and membranes from the venison, wash it clean, blanch it briefly in boiling water, then remove and cut it into pieces about one inch long. Break the bones open and set them aside. Place the aforementioned Chinese herbal medicines into a bag and tie it closed. Put the venison and deer bones into a large aluminum pot, add the bag of herbs, pour in an appropriate amount of water, and then add scallions, ginger, ground pepper, and salt. Bring the pot to a boil over high heat, skim off any foam, then reduce the heat to low and simmer for 3 hours until the meat is tender. It can be divided into portions and eaten, with both meat and soup consumed. After half a month, take another dose.
In the formula, ginseng (Ren Shen) can significantly replenish vital energy and was praised as an “elixir” by Emperor Qianlong of the Qing Dynasty. Deer is a creature of pure yang. Deer meat is sweet and warm in nature, warming and nourishing the vital fire, strengthening yang and benefiting essence. When combined with other traditional Chinese medicines that nourish the Kidney and replenish essence, such as astragalus (Huang Qi), wolfberry fruit (Gou Qi Zi), epimedium (Yin Yang Huo), curculigo (Xian Mao), Chinese yam (Shan Yao), and dodder seed (Tu Si Zi), the efficacy becomes even more remarkable. Therefore, this formula is suitable for signs of imbalance such as cold limbs and body, soreness and weakness in the lower back and knees, impotence, and spermatorrhea, as well as for those with underdeveloped reproductive organs.
In addition, dietary therapy prescriptions for warming the Kidney and strengthening yang and for nourishing yin and replenishing essence can be taken alternately.
III. External Therapies
1. Rub the back and penis with cold water until they become rosy and warm. Long-term adherence is effective.

Interesting article. I had no idea dietary therapy could play a role in treating micropenis. Are there
この記事、とても興味深いですね。食事療法や外用治療の具体例がもっと知りたいです。実際に効果を実感した方の体験談があれば、さらに参考になると思います。
Interesting article. I’ve read that early hormone therapy can help in some cases, but it’s crucial to consult a specialist first. Are there any long-term studies on the effectiveness of dietary changes for this condition?
