4 Traditional Chinese Remedies for Stranguria and Hematuria

1.Putao Maogen Decoction

[Source] Collection of Folk supports

[Functions] Clearing heat and eliminating dampness.

[Indications] Heat stranguria, painful ejaculation, and hemospermia.

[Formula] Grape juice and Imperata cylindrica root (Bai Mao Gen), appropriate amounts of each.

[Preparation Method] Decoct in water and drink.

[Administration] Take one dose daily.

2.Grape Root with White Sugar Decoction

[Source] Collection of Folk supports

[Functions] Anti-inflammatory, diuretic, and hemostatic.

[Indications] Hematospermia, hematuria.

[Formula] 30 grams each of Vitis vinifera L. (grapevine) root and white sugar.

[Preparation Method] Add water, decoct into soup and take it orally.

[Usage] Take one dose daily.

3.Malva verticillata Congee

[Source] Shiyi Xinjian

[Functions] Inducing diuresis, relieving stranguria, and alleviating pain.

[Indications] Seven types of stranguria with scanty and astringent urine, pain in the penis.

[Formula] 1500 grams of Malva verticillata, a handful of Allii Fistulosi Bulbus, 150 grams of Oryza sativa (polished round-grained rice).

[Preparation Method] Wash and chop the malva vegetables, place them in a pot and boil for over 10 minutes. Strain out the dregs, add the rinsed rice and bring to a boil. Then add green onions and ginger, and simmer until the porridge is cooked. Add refined salt, cooking wine, and soy sauce, bring to a boil again, and finally add sesame oil before serving.

[Usage] Consume on an empty stomach.

4.Beef Soup with Sauce

[Source] Shiyi Xinjian

[Functions] Clearing and promoting urination.

[Indications] Scanty and difficult urination, severe cases with urinary retention, as well as signs of imbalance such as painful ejaculation.

[Formula] 500 grams of beef, 120 grams of white gourd, a handful of scallion whites, a small amount of fermented black beans, vegetable oil, yellow bean paste, soy sauce, and refined salt respectively.

[Preparation Method] Cut the beef into walnut-sized pieces, place them in a pot, add water, and bring to a boil. Skim off the blood foam. Take another iron wok, heat it up, add vegetable oil, and heat until it smokes. Add yellow bean paste, and stir-fry over low heat until the paste is cooked. Pour it into the pot with the boiling meat, add soy sauce and fermented black beans, and cook until the meat is nearly tender. Add washed and diced winter melon and sections of scallion whites, and cook until the winter melon is cooked. Add salt, bring to a boil again, and it is ready to serve.

[Usage] Consume on an empty stomach.

  2. Interesting! I’ve never heard of using grape juice and Imperata root for this. My grandpa used to swear by herbal remedies for UTIs, but he never mentioned this one. Might
