[Technique Essentials] Use the thumb and the palmar sides of the other four fingers to apply opposing force, grasp the supports area, and maintain continuous pressure or slightly lift it, allowing the grasped muscle to slide out from between the hands.
[Operational Steps] The practitioner uses the thumb(s) of one or both hands, with the palmar side of the remaining four fingers opposing them, to grasp the patient’s supports area or acupoint(s). The practitioner then applies sustained pressure or slightly lifts the area, prompting the grasped muscle tendons to slip out from between the fingers. This technique is called “sliding grasping manipulation.” When performed with one hand, it is termed “single-hand sliding grasping manipulation”; when performed with both hands, it is termed “double-hand sliding grasping manipulation.

Interesting technique! I’ve found that sliding grasp works great for releasing tight forearms, especially after long typing sessions. The key is keeping steady pressure while letting the muscle slide—feels amazing when done right. Thanks for breaking down the steps!
Interessante Technik!
Interesting technique! I’ve seen similar methods in myofascial release work, but the emphasis on sliding the muscle out rather than just compressing it makes sense for breaking adhesions. Do you recommend this for chronic tightness in the traps, or is it more for acute issues?
