Pushing Technique (Tui Fa) is a basic tuina manipulation. The therapist uses fingers, palms or fists to press on the patient’s body parts or acupoints, then pushes forward steadily.
- Forward Pushing (Shun Tui Fa): Push from the proximal to the distal end of limbs, or from upper to lower body.
- Reverse Pushing (Ni Tui Fa): Push from the distal to the proximal end of limbs, or from lower to upper body.
Finger Pushing (Zhi Tui Fa)
Three mainstream styles: Thumb Pushing (Mu Zhi Tui Fa), Sword-Finger Pushing (Jian Zhi Tui Fa), Four-Finger Pushing (Si Zhi Tui Fa).
They can be operated in forward, reverse, transverse and rotary directions respectively.
Palm Pushing (Zhang Tui Fa)
Including Single-Palm Pushing (Dan Zhang Tui Fa) and Double-Palm Pushing (Shuang Zhang Tui Fa). It covers flat palm pushing, thenar pushing, separating pushing and cross palm pushing, and can be applied to the waist, back, upper and lower limbs.
Fist Pushing (Quan Tui Fa)
Including Single-Fist Pushing (Dan Quan Tui Fa) and Double-Fist Pushing (Shuang Quan Tui Fa), with forward and reverse operating modes.
This technique is widely used on all body areas and acupoints.
Main Functions
- Regulate qi and blood, remove blood stasis and enhance blood circulation;
- Nourish skin, relax tight muscles and relieve spasms;
- Unblock meridians, stimulate nerves and adjust neural activities;
