Drug Formulation

Half a liang of agarwood, half a liang of areca nut, half a liang of sandalwood, half a liang of southern frankincense, half a liang of cassia bark, half a liang of Acorus tatarinowii (roasted, chopped), half a liang of Curcuma zedoaria (roasted, chopped), half a liang of Shenqu (roasted),half liang of barley sprouts (washed and roasted), half liang of Magnolia bark (coarse bark removed and coarsely chopped; for every 1 jin, use 1 jin of ginger, thinly sliced, pounded until pulpy, mixed thoroughly with the bark, fermented overnight, then stir-fried over low heat until dry),Atractylodes lancea (soaked in rice washing water overnight, coarse bark removed, drained, chopped into pieces, and stir-fried over low heat until pale yellow) half liang, Semen Euphorbiae (chopped and dried on roof tiles) half liang,Green tangerine peel (white pith removed)—half liang; aged tangerine peel (white pith removed)—half liang; cardamom—half liang; amomum seed—half liang; purified cyperus rhizome—half liang; trichosanthes peel (soaked in water until softened, shell removed, chopped into pieces, and stir-fried with wheat bran until slightly yellow)—half liang; galangal (chopped, stir-fried with soil from the east wall)—half liang; licorice root (roasted)—1.5 liang.

Processing

Except for Agarwood, Areca Nut, Sandalwood, Frankincense, and Cinnamon Bark—which should not be over-roasted—the remaining fifteen ingredients should be chopped, roasted, and ground into a fine powder together with the aforementioned ingredients. Form into pills the size of a sesame seed using a water-cooked starch paste.

Instructions for Use

Take 30–50 pills per dose, washed down with warm, clear rice broth, at any time of day. For young children who cannot swallow, prepare the pills with refined honey, each the size of a water lily seed. Take 1–2 pills per dose, dissolved in warm water.
