Processing

Grind the above ingredients into a fine powder and mix with refined honey to form pills.

Benefits

For boils and carbuncles, toxic abscesses, facial sores, jaw swelling, rheumatic and febrile conditions, wandering damp phlegm, bone-penetrating ulcers, “crane’s knee” syndrome, unilateral hernias, tetanus with locked jaw, left-sided paralysis and right-sided weakness, facial paralysis, hemiplegia, stagnation of qi and blood, wandering pain throughout the body, and difficulty walking.

Instructions for Use

For each liang of medicine, divide it into 4 pills; for 1 liang, make 6 pills; for 1 liang, make 9 pills. Prepare them in three different strengths to accommodate the varying severity of illness across different age groups and physical conditions. Prepare 6 qian of cinnabar in advance, grind it finely to serve as a coating, and store the pills in a porcelain jar. For early-stage external symptoms where the exterior syndrome has not yet fully resolved, decoct 9 scallion whites to make 1 zhong of decoction. Dissolve one pill in the decoction while it is still hot, drink the entire mixture in one go, and cover oneself to induce sweating—this is considered effective. If sweating is delayed after taking the medicine, use the scallion white decoction again to induce it; eventually, the patient will sweat profusely as if being washed, and the sweat will gradually subside. Cover the patient with clothing, and the sweating will naturally cease. The patient will feel refreshed, and the illness will seem to vanish. For conditions that have not yet fully developed, they will dissipate immediately; for those that have already developed, they will become severely swollen and ulcerate with pus. For various illnesses not accompanied by exterior symptoms—where dispersing is not necessary—simply dissolve the medicine in hot wine and take it. After taking it, avoid drafts and eat thin congee.

Note

Avoid cold foods and sexual activity; pregnant women should not take this formula.
