Formulas Name : Bai Shun Ointment

Chinese Name : 百顺膏

Drug Formulation

2 large toads (i.e., aged toad venom; the more, the better), 3 liang of wood hibiscus leaves (harvested on the Double Ninth Festival; the root bark or flowers may also be used, all of which are effective).

Source

*Mirror of Surgical Medicine*.

Processing

Combine the above ingredients with 1 jin of sesame oil; simmer until charred as usual, then strain out the residue. Weigh the oil precisely; for every 2 liang of medicinal oil, add 1 liang of roasted lead powder, calculating the proportions accordingly. Stir thoroughly with a mulberry twig and simmer until the mixture reaches the consistency where a drop of the mixture forms a pill that does not stick to the finger. Pour into water to neutralize the fire properties.
