Drug Formulation

Qianghuo 1 qian, Fangfeng 1 qian, Zhonggui 1 qian, Sumu 1 qian 5 fen, Lianqiao 2 qian, Danggui Shao 2 qian, Chaihu 2 qian, Shuizhi 3 qian (stir-fried until all smoke has dissipated; grind separately), Musk a small amount (grind separately).

Benefits

Injuries sustained while riding a horse, such as a fall resulting in spinal fracture, cause stagnant blood to accumulate beneath the ribs. The pain is excruciating, preventing the patient from turning over and interfering with eating and drinking.

Instructions for Use

Divide into two doses. For each dose, use 2 large cups of wine and 1 large cup of water. Set aside the leeches and musk to be ground separately into a paste. Decoct the remaining herbs to yield 1 large cup of liquid, strain out the residue, and warm the liquid slightly over heat. Mix in the two ground ingredients and take on an empty stomach.
