Benefits

For women who have never given birth since reaching maturity, or those who have not given birth for thirty years following the cessation of menstruation.

Instructions for Use

Combine 5 sheng of clear wine with 5 sheng of water and boil until reduced to 3 sheng. Divide this into 4 doses: 3 during the day and 1 at night. Allow 3 shí between each dose, then continue as usual. Cover with a blanket to induce a light sweat; if no sweat appears, place a heating pad under the blanket in winter. This will expel accumulated blood and cold, reddish pus resembling the juice of red adzuki beans. If, after careful assessment, the patient has expelled everything and is too weak and exhausted to take further doses, treatment may be stopped after 2–3 doses. If severe nausea makes the treatment unbearable, take one mouthful of vinegar-flavored rice or cold rice porridge to stop it. However, this may prevent the complete expulsion of pathogenic substances and reduce the efficacy of the medicine; if you can endure and complete the full course, that is best, and a purgative should still be administered afterward.
