Drug Formulation

Raw Rehmannia root 17 jin (sliced with a bamboo knife and pounded to a pulp in a wooden mortar), Frankincense 2 liang,Cuscuta Seed (soaked in wine for 1 day, steamed, then ground into a separate powder) 2 liang, Achyranthes Root (soaked in wine overnight, sliced, and roasted) 2 liang, Aged Rice Malt 1 jin (ground into a powder), Polygonum Multiflorum (steamed with black beans for 1 fu-shi, sun-dried, and ground in a wooden mortar) 4 liang, Apricot Kernels 4 liang (remove skin, tips, and split kernels; grind, then press with paper to remove oil).Mix the above 7 ingredients thoroughly and place them in a clay jar, leveling the surface. Cover with a new oil-coated cloth, secure it tightly, and seal the opening with 1 liang of white salt mixed with lime paste to prevent air from entering. Dig a pit 2 chi deep and wide; first heat it gently over a low fire, then place the jar of medicine inside. Simmer gently over rice bran embers for 3 days and nights. Open the jar to inspect; if the medicine has turned the color of fermented soybean paste, stop the process. If not, simmer for another day.Remove the mixture, grind it into a fine powder, and add it to the following ingredients: 2.5 liang of deer antler (roasted with ghee),Schisandra berries (roasted) 2.5 liang, Cistanche (soaked in wine overnight, sliced, and roasted) 2.5 liang, Poria (black skin removed) 2.5 liang, Rubus fruit (roasted) 2.5 liang, Cornus fruit 2.5 liang, Morinda root 2.5 liang (core removed; grind all together in a wooden mortar into a fine powder).

Processing

Mix the above ingredients to form cakes. Pound 1.5 jin of dried sweet potato in a basin, then press the mixture firmly onto both sides of the cakes. Place them on a bamboo rack, cover with paper, and air-dry in the shade. Store in a new earthenware container; when needed, grind into a fine powder. Mix with refined white honey to form pills the size of a paulownia seed.

Instructions for Use

Take 30 pills per dose on an empty stomach with warm wine; take another dose after a meal. After 100 days, reduce to once daily. The residue adhering to the pot should be washed with wine, stored separately in a bottle, and taken as one cup daily.
