Drug Formulation

3 qian of realgar, 3 qian of cinnabar, 0.5 fen of asafoetida (roasted in bamboo leaves), 0.5 fen of borax, 3 qian of frankincense, 3 qian of pinellia, 3 qian of wood fragrant, 1 qian of agarwood, 3 qian of nutmeg, 40 mung beans, 40 black plums, and 3 qian of hundred-herb ash (for coating).

Processing

Grind the above ingredients into a fine powder. Soak the black plums in hot water until soft, remove the pits, and mash them until very smooth. Mix with the powder and pound into pills the size of a marble. Coat with Hundred Herbs Ash and air-dry in the shade.

Instructions for Use

Take 1 pill at a time; let it dissolve in the mouth before swallowing. Rinse the mouth with ginger soup, then chew a piece of aged wheat cake (toasted over a fire) thoroughly and swallow it to aid digestion.
