Drug Formulation

1.5 liang of honeysuckle, 0.5 liang of soapberry thorns, 0.5 liang of pangolin scales, 0.5 liang of white angelica root, 0.5 liang of trichosanthes root, 0.5 liang of licorice nodes, 0.5 liang of angelica root tails, 0.5 liang of saposhnikovia root, 0.5 liang of patchouli, 0.5 liang of red peony root, 3 qian of frankincense (ground separately), and 3 qian of myrrh (ground separately).

Instructions for Use

Coarsely crush the ingredients. For each dose, take 1 liang of the mixture and combine it with 1 zhan of water and 1 zhan of high-quality wine free of ash in a sand or stone vessel. Cover the opening with a porcelain dish, seal the seams with a strip of paper, and simmer over moderate heat until the mixture has reduced to the volume of a heavy cart traveling 10 li, or until the medicine emits a fragrant aroma. Take while hot. After taking the medicine, drink several cups of good wine, wrap yourself in thick clothing and blankets, and sweating indicates effectiveness. Re-simmer the residue and take it as well.For severe cases, no more than three doses are required.
