Drug Formulation
1 piece of Aconite Root (large, raw, with skin and pith removed), 1 liang of Red Adzuki Beans (raw), 1 liang of Male Bird Bean (raw), 1 liang of Sichuan Du Huo, 1 liang of Rock Salt (ground separately), 1 liang of Sichuan Melia Fruit (pulp only, stir-fried), 1 liang of Broken Paper Bark (soaked in wine overnight, then stir-fried),half a liang of Sichuan Smilax, half a liang of black pharbitis (raw), 7.5 fen of Achyranthes root (soaked in wine overnight), 2.5 qian of Sichuan Aconite (raw, peeled), 2.5 fen of wild Aconite (raw, peeled), 14 earthworms (as above, cleaned of soil),imported anise 7 qian and a half (cleaned of soil, stir-fried), centipedes 14 (with heads and tails intact, cleaned of soil, top shells removed, seeds and pulp discarded, dried on a tile), scorpions (red-footed variety, wrapped in scallion leaves, roasted with vinegar) 2, hot mugwort 2 liang, large wood apples 2.

Processing
Mix the rock salt and roasted mugwort into the wood apples, secure the top with the lids, and steam a dozen or so times until thoroughly softened. Grind into a paste, then add a small amount of ash-free wine and cooked wheat flour to form pills the size of a tung tree seed.

Effective for chronic and acute cases of all types of beriberi.
Instructions for Use
Take 15 pills per dose; after 10 days, increase by 5 pills until reaching 30 pills. Take on an empty stomach with warm wine or boiled water.
