Formulas Name : Dragon-Coptis Ointment
Chinese Name : 龙连膏
Drug Formulation
4 liang of Coptis (wash, chop, and simmer with 4 zhan of water over low heat until reduced to a paste; strain out the residue), 1 jin of honey (simmer over low heat until the desired consistency is reached, then add the black paste and continue simmering), a small amount of orpiment, and 1 liang of dragon’s saliva powder.

Processing
Take the previously prepared ointment, add the powder after boiling, then mix with half a zhan of water until smooth. Pour this into the honey-based ointment and simmer over low heat, stirring with a sieve until it turns purple. Pour into a jar. Wash the cooking utensils with half a zhan of water and pour the rinse water back into the ointment as before. Then add half a qian of musk and half a qian of camphor, stirring until evenly mixed.
