Drug Formulation
1 jin of genuine Sichuan pepper (cleaned, divided into 4 portions; soak for 1 fu: 4 liang in wine, 4 liang in vinegar, 4 liang in a child’s urine, and 4 liang in rice washing water); 2 liang of natural copper (calcined over fire, then soaked 7 times in a child’s urine and quenched 7 times in vinegar).
Source
From *Formulas for Universal Relief*, Volume 228.
Processing
First, place 1 jin of Sichuan pepper on the ground and heat it until red-hot. Then pour high-quality fermented rice wine onto the red-hot ground. Once the ground has dried, spread the Sichuan pepper on the ground, cover it with a clay basin, and wait until the ground has cooled. Remove the Sichuan pepper and grind it into a fine powder. Next, combine the natural copper, frankincense, myrrh, and dragon’s blood in one mixture. Use the original liquids used to soak the Sichuan pepper—wine, vinegar, a child’s urine, and rice washing water—to form a paste, then roll it into pills the size of a paulownia seed.

For men suffering from the “Five Labors and Seven Injuries,” characterized by aching joints, difficulty walking, chest congestion, and loss of appetite.
