Drug Formulation

Lei Wan 1 liang, Shenqu (roasted) 1 liang, Maiye (roasted) 1 liang, Chenpi 1 liang, Qingpi 1 liang, Poria 1 liang, Kutingli 1 liang, Shisanling 1 liang, Radish Seeds (roasted, ground separately) 1 liang,1 liang of Asafoetida, 1 liang of White Cardamom, 1 liang of Agarwood, 1 liang of Blue Aquilaria, 1.5 liang of Guang Aquilaria, 2 liang of Curcuma zedoaria, 4 liang of Atractylodes lancea, 3 qian of Pinellia, 2.5 qian of Cloves.

Processing

Coarsely chop the ingredients until they are about the size of sesame seeds. Use 5 sheng of good vinegar and 1 jin of raw, sharp-edged cow’s-eye iron, crushed; soak the iron together with the herbs. Soak for 3 days in spring, 2 days in summer, 7 days in autumn, and 10 days in winter. Remove the iron, boil the herbs, sun-dry them, grind into a fine powder, and form into pills the size of millet grains using a paste.

Instructions for Use

Administer according to the child’s age: 30 pills for children under 3 years old; 50–60 pills for children aged 4 to 7 years. Take with water on an empty stomach; if the child suffers from dampness-induced jaundice, swelling, or abdominal distension, take with a decoction of papaya.

Note

Avoid raw and cold foods, salty foods, seafood, and toxic substances.
