Fumigation Formula for Scabies,Scabies.

Formulas Name : Fumigation Formula for Scabies

Chinese Name : 熏疥方

Drug Formulation

1 walnut (oily ones are best; split in half and remove the kernel), 1 date pulp, and 2 fen of mercury.

Source

From *The Great Compendium of Surgery*, Volume 4.

Processing

Grind the ingredients together until smooth, place the mixture inside the walnut shell, close the shell, and seal the seam with two layers of paper strips.

Benefits

Scabies.

Instructions for Use

To use, place red-hot charcoal in a brazier, place the medicine on the coals with a pair of tongs, and turn it constantly until the walnut shell is completely blackened. Just as the heat begins to penetrate the shell, place the brazier inside the quilt. Have the patient bend their knees and pull the quilt over themselves to be fumigated, using silk cloth to protect the scrotum, tucking the quilt’s top end to cover the head while leaving the face exposed. Remove the brazier once the smoke has dissipated. The next day, the scabies may appear worse—this is because the internal toxins have been expelled outward.Avoid drafts for two days, then repeat the fumigation once more as described above. The sores will then form scabs and gradually fall off and heal; even in severe cases, no more than three sessions are required.
