In cases of severe qi deficiency with robust pathogenic factors, the patient exhibits shortness of breath and rapid breathing, slight coldness in the extremities, constipation lasting over 10 days, frequent flatulence, abdominal distension and discomfort, restlessness and anxiety when agitated, tremors in the hands and feet, and, when calm, talking to oneself as if seeing ghosts.The patient may grope for clothing or the bed; the tongue is pale red, with a delicate and thin coating in the anterior and middle sections and a gray, greasy, and putrid coating at the root; although the pulse at the cun position is faint, the deep positions at both shao positions are conversely firm.
