Drug Formulation

4 liang of Atractylodes lancea, 4 liang of Cyperus rotundus, 4 liang of processed alum, 3 liang of Artemisia capillaris, 3 liang of Atractylodes macrocephala, 3 liang of Magnolia officinalis, 3 liang of dried tangerine peel, 3 liang of green tangerine peel, 2 liang of dried lacquer (roasted until all smoke has dissipated), 2 liang of Polygonatum odoratum, 2 liang of Acorus tatarinowii, 1 liang of Sichuan pepper, and 1 liang of licorice.

Processing

Grind the ingredients into a fine powder. Boil a large black date until it comes to a rolling boil, then remove the skin and pit and mash it into a paste. Form into pills; if the mixture is too dry, add date broth to achieve the right consistency. The pills should be about the size of a tung seed.

Instructions for Use

Take 50 pills per dose on an empty stomach, washed down with rice water or ginger and jujube broth. Discontinue the medication once 70 percent of the symptoms have subsided.
