Drug Formulation

Golden Tooth (place in a porcelain jar, seal with clay, fire for one day, then grind) 5 liang, a small amount of toad venom, Asarum (stems and leaves removed) half a liang, Scutellaria (black core removed) half a liang, Angelica dahurica half a liang, Cimicifuga 1 liang.

Processing

Grind the above ingredients into a fine powder. Mix 4 liang of buckwheat flour with fresh sesame oil to form a dough. Wrap the medicinal powder into a ball with the dough, place it on a brick, and heat it on all four sides over charcoal fire for the duration of one meal. Remove and allow to cool; knead the ball again, then pound and sift it into a fine powder. Separately grind a small amount each of borneol and musk, along with half a liang each of cinnabar and realgar; then grind them together until uniform and store in a porcelain container.
