Great Sage’s Single Golden Pill,For all types of wind disorders in men and women, characterized by deficiency of both qi and blood and imbalance of yin and yang;sudden stroke resulting in rigidity, collapse, and loss of consciousness; profuse drooling, convulsions, and loss of consciousness; loss of voice, stiff tongue, dragging of the hands and feet, and deviation of the mouth and eyes; or paralysis, hemiplegia, inability to move one side of the body, slurred speech, disoriented behavior, and numbness in the limbs; as well as epilepsy with falling, eyes tightly shut and unopenable,profuse drooling accompanied by vocalizations; or opisthotonos, with the eyes staring straight ahead, the mouth clenched shut, suffocation, and locked jaws; as well as wind attacking the Yang meridians, causing dizziness, headache, a ringing in the ears like cicadas, skin twitching, frequent yawning and drowsiness, a stiff and rigid neck, inability to turn the head, and kidney wind-deficiency, resulting in pain in the feet and knees, difficulty walking, and one-sided paralysis where the affected side cannot be flexed or extended.

Drug Formulation

1 liang of Black Aconite Root (raw, with skin and pith removed), 1 liang of Sichuan Aconite Root (as above), 1 liang of White Aconite Root, 1 liang of Wulingzhi, 1 liang of White Silkworm (roasted), 1 liang of White Tribulus (roasted) (grind the above 6 ingredients separately into a powder), 1 liang of White Alum (dried),Cinnabar (ground separately) half liang, Myrrh half liang, Musk (ground) 1 qian, Frankincense (ground) half liang, Whole Scorpion half liang (crushed is also acceptable).

Processing

Mix all the above ingredients thoroughly. Grind half liang of fine ink with well water, then add water drop by drop to form pills the size of a marble. Let them air-dry, then coat them with gold leaf.

Instructions for Use

Take 1 pill per dose. Use 1 liang of ginger, peel and finely pound it to extract its natural juice. Grind the pill in the ginger juice until it dissolves completely, then take it with 1 zhan of ash-free wine while warm. Depending on the patient’s tolerance for alcohol, drink an additional 1–2 sheng of warm wine to enhance the medicine’s efficacy. Next, cover the patient with a blanket and have them lie down; the onset of sweating indicates the treatment is effective. For milder cases, take half a pill per dose, regardless of the time of day.
