Drug Formulation

Astragalus (finely chopped) 1.5 liang, Ginseng (from Shangdang, stems removed) 1 liang, Sichuan Dipsacus (chopped) 1 liang, Eupatorium leaves (stem removed) 1 liang, Prepared Rehmannia (baked dry) 1 liang,Peony Bark (sorted and cleaned) 1 liang, Corydalis 1 liang, White Peony Root 1 liang, Sichuan Ligusticum 1 liang, White Wei 1 liang, Young Deer Antler (scorched to remove hair, coated with ghee and wine, roasted until dry, and pounded separately) 1 liang, White Poria (black skin removed) 1 liang, Angelica Root (stems removed, washed, sliced, and stir-fried until dry) 1 liang,Cistanche (soaked in wine until soft, wrinkled skin removed, sliced, and dried in an oven) 1 liang, Fangfeng (stems and forked roots removed) 1 liang, Gaoben (stems and soil removed) 1 liang, Huaxixin (stems, leaves, and soil removed; blown clean, rubbed, and sifted) 1 liang, Chenpi (soaked in hot water, white pith removed, and dried in an oven) 1 liang,Curcuma zedoaria 1 liang, Beijing-style Acorus gramineus (each of these two ingredients is coated with wheat flour, slow-roasted over a low charcoal fire until cooked, the flour removed, and then pounded into a fine powder while still hot) 1 liang, Dried ginger (cracked by roasting) 1 liang, Wood fragrant half a liang, Cinnamon bark (with coarse bark removed) half a liang, Cornus officinalis half a liang, Licorice (chopped and stir-fried) 2 liang,Black Aconite Root (roasted until cracked, with skin and navel removed) 3 qian, Rubus Fruit (with calyx and stems removed, thoroughly cleaned) 2 liang.
