Chinese Name : 泻热栀子散

Drug Formulation

1 liang of Gardenia seeds, 1 liang of Red Peony root, 1 liang of Rhinoceros Horn shavings, 1 liang of Red Poria, 1 liang of Scutellaria root, 1 liang of Belamcanda rhizome, 1 liang of Sichuan Rhubarb (coarsely chopped and lightly roasted).

Grind the above ingredients into a powder.

Benefits

For excessive heat in the stomach manifesting as severe headache, inability to sweat, symptoms resembling warm malaria, dryness of the lips and mouth, or the development of a breast abscess, as well as swelling in the supraclavicular region and under the armpits.

Instructions for Use

Take half a liang per dose. Decoct in 1 da zan of water until reduced to 6 fen; strain out the residue. Add 1 he of fresh Rehmannia root juice and 1 da zan of honey; stir until well blended. Decoct for another liang of boiling, then divide the mixture into portions and take warm after meals.

Note

Avoid fried or overheated noodles.
