Hemorroidal Fistula Hun Yuan Pill

Drug Formulation
8 liang of blue calcined stone (preferably black and crushed, with golden flecks), 3 liang of black lead (stir-fried with 4 liang of sulfur until it turns bluish-gold), 3 liang 2 qian of aged Ming Dynasty roof tiles, 2 liang of Ming Xiong, 2 liang of mercury, 2 liang of orpiment, 8 qian of white arsenic, 4 liang of soapstone alum, and 6 liang of tooth-whitening powder (calcined with blue calcined stone until golden).

Processing
Grind each ingredient into a coarse powder. Measure the quantities in sheng,to form Hun Yuan balls of appropriate size. First, use ash in the same quantity as the herbs to form balls, so as to avoid having too much medicine for a small ball. Once the balls are formed, fill them with the herbal mixture, seal them tightly with a clay lid, and place them in an ash jar. Roast them over a “golden grain” fire from day to night, turning them four times to ensure even roasting on all sides. When removed and the lid opened, if the mixture appears tea-brown or yellow, it is good;if it is white or blackish-white, reseal it and roast it again, maintaining the heat for one day. Remove it and prepare the subsequent medicine: for every 1 liang of the spiritual medicine, add 2 liang of Wind-Head Guanzhong (with the core removed), wrapped in damp paper, sealed with clay, and sun-dried. Place it in charcoal and roast until red-hot, then remove it; let it rest to preserve its properties. Grind it into a fine powder (1 liang), mix with 1 liang 2 qian of black jujube pulp, and place both in a stone mortar. Pound them into pills the size of soybeans.

Instructions for Use
Take 3–4 pills, or 5–6 pills, on an empty stomach with wine. If throat pain or sores occur after taking the medicine, stop for 1–2 days; once the throat is pain-free, resume taking as before until fully cured.
