Drug Formulation

Ox bile (authentic Western variety) 1 liang, processed bile (processed 9 times) 1 liang 2 qian,Lead Frost 2 qian (prepare using 10 jin of mountain-mined lead; cut into square plates about one cun in size, string them together, and suspend them in a large porcelain bowl; pour 6 jin of rice wine and 2 jin of good vinegar over them; cover the bowl with another bowl; seal the exterior tightly with salt mud; simmer in a pot of hot water; after 5 days, open the bowl, scrape off the residue, and the lead frost is ready), Dried Tangerine Peel(Guangpi, white pith removed) 1 liang 5 qian, Serpentine (calcined with vinegar 7 times) 5 qian, Musk 3 qian, Trifoliate Orange Fruit (use small ones, stir-fried with wheat bran) 1 liang, Agarwood 1 liang (avoid exposure to fire), Genuine Gold Leaf 30 pieces, Cinnabar (ground extremely fine) 3 qian.

Processing

Grind each of the above herbs into an extremely fine powder. Mix with bamboo sap and old ginger juice to form pills, dividing the mixture into 72 pills. Coat them with cinnabar and gold leaf, then seal them with wax.
