Drug Formulation
2 liang of ancient coins (first heat them over a fire until they glow red-hot, then quench them in vinegar; repeat this process 10 times), 1 liang of natural copper, and 1 liang of sulfur.

Processing
Grind the ingredients into a fine powder, then place them in a clay jar. Seal the jar’s opening with raw clay; once dry, invert the jar and burn it over a fire until it glows red-hot. Allow it to cool, remove the contents, pound them, and sift. Add 1 liang of mercury and grind together until the mercury granules are completely dissolved. Wrap the mixture in white, thin paper into ball-shaped pellets.Next, place 1 jin of salt in a mortar, add water drop by drop, and pound until soft. Wrap the medicine balls in the mixture and let them dry. Place them in a fire fueled by rice bran and burn for 7 days. Remove them once cooled and grind them finely.Then add: 1 fen of cinnabar powder, 1 fen of musk powder, and 1 fen of rhinoceros horn powder; grind all together until uniform. Take raw rehmannia root, grind and squeeze out the juice, then boil it in a silver vessel to form a paste. Mix this paste with the previous powdered ingredients to form pills the size of a sour jujube.

Instructions for Use
For patients, mix 1 qian of Rehmannia paste into half a zhan of warm wine, stir until uniform, and take 1 pill. After taking it, if you vomit clear, green fluid or have 2–3 he of clear, green diarrhea, do not be alarmed; this indicates the disease is being expelled. Continue taking the medicine frequently until full recovery is achieved.
