Euphorbia (Da Ji) 5 qian, Colocynth (Wu Hua, stir-fried) 5 qian, Euphorbia (Gan Sui) 5 qian, Black Choutou Powder 2 qian, Raw Rhubarb (Da Huang) 5 qian, Green Tangerine Peel (Qing Pi) 5 qian, Dried Tangerine Peel (Chen Pi) 5 qian, Southern Wood Fragrance (Nan Mu Xiang) 5 qian, Blue Wood Fragrance (Qing Mu Xiang) 5 qian, Black Pepper 1 qian (double the dose for severe conditions), Sichuan Pepper (Sichuan Jiao, white pith removed) 5 qian,Areca nut 5 qian, Amomum villosum seed 5 qian, Belamcanda chinensis 5 qian, Mulberry bark 5 qian, Bitter pennywort 5 qian (roasted), Areca catechu peel 5 qian, Alisma orientale 5 qian, Akebia trifoliata (peeled) 5 qian, Forsythia suspensa 5 qian, Amomum villosum 5 qian, Croton tiglium (shelled, half-raw, half-roasted) 5 qian.

Processing

Grind the above ingredients into a fine powder; mix with a paste made from flour boiled in vinegar to form pills the size of a Paulownia seed.

Instructions for Use

Take 50 pills per dose; robust individuals may increase the dose to 70–80 pills. The first dose relieves swelling of the head and face; take it at the beginning of the fifth watch with scallions and white wine. The second dose relieves swelling of the diaphragm, chest, and abdomen; take it at the beginning of the fifth watch with a decoction of dried tangerine peel. The third dose relieves swelling from the navel down to the feet; take it at the beginning of the fifth watch with a decoction of white mulberry bark.

Note

Avoid all raw, cold, and toxic foods; oil, salt, soy sauce, and vinegar; fish, goose, and duck; and sexual activity.
