Drug Formulation

Licorice (remove the ends; soak in good wine and steam from 7:00 AM to 12:00 PM; remove and sun-dry) 5 qian; Anemarrhena (chop coarsely on a locust wood chopping block; pound into a paste in a dry wooden mortar) 1 liang;Turtle Shell (select one with nine ribs; wash off the skin and flesh; simmer thoroughly with vinegar; roast until yellow) 1 liang, Changshan (remove the stem just before use; mix with licorice powder and steam with water; remove and soak in good wine overnight) 3 liang.
