Drug Formulation

Raw Sophora japonica pods 2 liang, Ginseng 2 liang, White mulberry bark 2 liang, Atractylodes lancea 2 liang, Ligusticum chuanxiong 2 liang, Polygonum multiflorum 2 liang, Vitex negundo seeds 2 liang, Clematis chinensis 2 liang, Saposhnikovia divaricata 2 liang, Schisandra chinensis 1 liang, Sophora flavescens 1 liang, Cyperus rotundus 1 liang, Angelica dahurica 2 liang, Musk 2 qian, Borneol 2 qian(Grind separately).

Processing

Grind the above ingredients into a fine powder and mix thoroughly with musk. Take 10 jin of ephedra (roots and knots removed) and 3 shi 3 dou of Tianhe water; boil down to 6 dou, strain out the residue, then boil further to 2.5 sheng. Transfer to a silver or stone vessel and boil until it becomes a paste. Mix in the prepared herbal powder evenly to form pills; make 10 pills per liang, coated with cinnabar.

Instructions for Use

Take 1 pill per dose. First crush it into powder, then soak it in 1 zhan of wine from morning until evening. After a meal and before bedtime, stir well and consume. A clear mind and absence of drowsiness indicate the medicine’s efficacy; repeat the dose after a 5-day interval.

Note

This formula is suitable for stroke patients who do not sweat. However, if taken by those with a weak constitution who experience spontaneous sweating, it will further deplete body fluids. For those with severe wind symptoms, they should rest in a warm, well-sealed room to induce sweating. Those with spontaneous sweating should not take this formula.
