Liver-Nourishing Decoction,When sexual intercourse occurs during the regular menstrual cycle and the stagnant blood fails to be expelled, the semen is ejaculated into the uterine orifice. The semen and blood then mix, enter the Conception Vessel, and remain within the uterus. In mild cases, this results in incessant spotting; if the yin collaterals are injured, blood overflows internally. In severe cases, stagnant blood accumulates, causing the lower abdomen to become hard and painful, with frequent and scanty urination. The condition resembles “Fu Liang” syndrome; in extreme cases, a cold qi surges upward, racing through the chest and diaphragm,resembling the symptoms of mania, and the condition may remain incurable for life.
