Chinese Name : 木香不二丸

Drug Formulation

1 qian of Wood Fragrance (not exposed to fire), 1 qian of Cardamom (wrapped in flour and roasted), 1 qian of Chebulic Myrobalan (roasted, then the pulp removed), 1 liang of Croton Seed (shell and oil removed, ground separately), and 1.5 qian of light fermented soybean paste powder (half mixed into the medicine, half made into a paste).

Processing

Grind the above ingredients into a fine powder. Mix the light fermented soybean paste powder with flour to form a paste, then roll into pills the size of a soybean; for children, make them the size of a mung bean.

Instructions for Use

Adjust the dosage according to the severity and condition of the patient; take only one pill per dose—never two. Take before meals or at bedtime with cold soup; for bloody dysentery, take with Sanguisorba Decoction; for white dysentery, take with Dried Ginger Decoction; for a mixture of red and white, take with Licorice Decoction. After taking this medicine, symptoms usually subside after two or three bowel movements.
