Drug Formulation

Dodder Seed (soaked in wine, boiled, roasted, and ground into powder) 3 liang; Prepared Rehmannia Root (steamed with wine, sifted) 2 liang; Raw Rehmannia Root (soaked in wine, roasted) 2 liang; Magnetite (calcined, quenched in vinegar 9 times, ground, and washed with water) 2 liang; Polygonum Multiflorum (soaked in rice wash overnight, sliced) 2 liang;Black bean juice (mixed and steamed, then sun-dried) 2 liang, Cistanche (soaked in wine, scales removed, steamed, flesh extracted) 2 liang, Asparagus root (core removed) 1.5 liang, Ophiopogon tuber (core removed) 1.5 liang, Chinese yam (lightly roasted) 1.5 liang, Angelica root (washed in wine, roasted) 1.5 liang, Poria cocos (washed with water) 1.5 liang,Alisma (steamed in wine) 1.5 liang, Peony Bark 1.5 liang, Ginseng 1 liang, Euryale Seed 1 liang, Cornus Fruit (soaked in wine, pulp extracted) 1 liang, Dendrobium (washed in wine, roasted) 1 liang, Rubus Fruit (washed in wine, roasted) 1 liang,Goji Berries (washed with wine, roasted) 1 liang, Schisandra Berries (washed with wine, roasted) 1 liang, Cnidium Seeds (roasted, hulled) 1 liang, Eucommia Bark (peeled, chopped, stir-fried with ginger juice to remove fibers) 1 liang, Morinda Root (boiled in salt water, deboned) 1 liang, Deer Antler (scorched to remove hair) 1 liang,Chive Seeds (roasted) 1 liang, Red Cinnabar (water-floated) 1 liang, Amomum (peeled, boiled in salt water until it comes to a boil once) 1 liang, Lotus Pollen 1 liang, Polygonum Multiflorum (roasted) 1 liang, Cypress Seed Kernels (peeled) 1 liang, Rock Salt 1 liang, Aconite (soaked in a child’s urine for 3 days, processed, peeled, and navel removed) 1 liang, Yangqi Stone (calcined) 1 liang,1 portion of dog’s scrotum (fried in butter until golden yellow; if unavailable, substitute with 3 or 5 yellow dog penises, fried in butter until golden yellow).

Processing

The above herbs must not come into contact with iron; grind them into a fine powder. Mix with glutinous rice flour and clear wine to form a paste, then shape into pills the size of a tung tree seed.

Instructions for Use

Take 2–3 qian per dose on an empty stomach, washed down with salted water, warm wine, or rice drink. This formula is most suitable for regular use by middle-aged adults.

Note

Avoid scallions, garlic, radishes, and vinegar; alcohol and sexual activity should also be moderated.
