Chinese Name : 木油汁

Drug Formulation

1 ji of fresh sawdust from the Chinese fir (or Chinese cedar may also be used).

Instructions for Use

Line the surface of a bowl with paper; pile the sawdust on top of the paper. Place a burning charcoal on the top of the sawdust to ignite it. After a short while, when the fire nears the paper, immediately wipe it away with an iron rod. Repeat this process several times. Remove the paper from the bowl to reveal several spoonfuls of oil. To apply the treatment, first scrape the affected area open with a Sichuan tortoise shell scraper, then dip a soft sheep’s-wool brush in the oil and apply it. This will cause significant pain; wait half a day before reapplying. As the tinea gradually forms a scab, it will heal.If the lesion has already broken open, there is no need to scrape the ringworm.
