Drug Formulation
49 male black beans (round black beans are best), 5 fen of Renyan.

From *Preserving Life and Nourishing the Essence* (Volume 8).
Processing
On the 5th day of the 5th lunar month at noon, soak the black beans in water for one day beforehand to remove the skins, then grind them into a paste. Add the “Ren Yan” and grind together into pills the size of soybeans. Coat with 1 qian of realgar, dry in the shade, and store.
Benefits
For malaria.
Instructions for Use
On the morning before a fever strikes, take one pill with unboiled water.
Note
Avoid hot alcohol and hot foods immediately after taking the pill; also avoid fishy, raw, and cold foods for 3 days.
