Drug Formulation

2 jin of mutton, half a liang of Angelica sinensis (chopped, lightly roasted), half a liang of white peony root, half a liang of prepared dried rehmannia root, half a liang of astragalus, 1 fen of ginger (sliced), and 3 he of japonica rice.

Instructions for Use

From the above ingredients, set aside 4 liang of lean meat, finely chopped; with the remaining 1 jin 12 liang, first simmer with 5 sheng of water and the herbs to extract 3 sheng of broth. Strain out the residue, add the rice, and cook into porridge. Just before it is done, add the raw meat and continue cooking until it is fully cooked. Season with the five herbs and consume on an empty stomach.
