Drug Formulation

1 liang of mercury, half a liang of sulfur, 1 fen of realgar, 1 fen of sodium carbonate, 1 fen of white alum, and 1 liang of Datura flower (tossed with vinegar, stir-fried until dry, then ground into a fine powder).

Processing

Grind the ingredients into a fine powder. Place the mixture in a small pot, heat it over a flame until smoke rises, then cover it with damp paper and remove it from the heat. Allow it to cool, then heat it again. Repeat this process three times, then stop. Once cooled, grind the mixture thoroughly until uniform, and use soft rice to form pills the size of mung beans.
