Method for Preparing Deer Antler Gelatin Pills

Drug Formulation
1 set of deer antlers (freshly harvested; sawed into sections one cun in length; soaked overnight in glutinous rice washing water; scrubbed to remove the black grime from the exterior; split into thin slices). For each antler (1 jin), use 4 liang of white mulberry bark, 2 liang of red-fleshed euryale seed, and 4 liang of beeswax. Place these in a clay jar. Additionally, use 2 liang of raw Rehmannia root and 2 liang of prepared Rehmannia root,2 liang of Tianmendong (Asparagus root, core removed), and 2 liang of Maimendong (Ophiopogon tuber, core removed). In a separate earthenware jar, prepare a decoction using 5 sheng of water, reduced to 3 sheng. Add the deer antlers. Simmer both the antler jar and the medicinal jar over low heat using dry mulberry wood. When the liquid in the antler jar has reduced by one-third, top it up with hot decoction from the medicinal jar.Under no circumstances should cold water be added to the antler pot; instead, replenish the water in the herbal pot and the broth in the antler pot as needed. Continue simmering for one day and one night, until the antler becomes tender enough to be chewed into pieces. Strain out the residue through a clean cloth, then transfer the liquid to a silver cauldron and simmer over low heat until it forms a gelatinous substance (set aside). Add 4 liang of Chinese yam, 2 liang of Chinese cornelian cherry (pitted and roasted),Cistanche (washed in wine, outer scales removed, inner white membrane scraped off, sun-dried) 1 liang, lotus seed (peeled and pitted) 2 liang, euryale seed (shelled) 2 liang.

Processing
Grind the above ingredients into a fine powder, mix thoroughly with the deer antler gelatin using a pestle, and shape into pills the size of a tung tree seed.
Instructions for Use
Take 50 pills at a time, on an empty stomach, washed down with warm wine.
