Drug Formulation

32 liang of raw barley malt, 4 liang of Chuanxiong, 4 liang of white peony root, 4 liang of pangolin scale (roasted), 4 liang of Lo Lu, 8 liang of Angelica sinensis, 8 liang of raw astragalus, 8 liang of Wangbuliu (roasted), and 2 liang of Tongcao.

Processing

Boil 10 pork shank bones from a “Seven-Star Elbow” cut to make broth; skim off all fat. Use this broth to decoct the herbs, repeating the process three times and straining out the residue after each decoction. Combine the filtered liquids and simmer over low heat until concentrated into a paste, until it no longer seeps through paper. For every 16 liang of paste, mix with 32 liang of honey, and fill into bottles weighing 2 liang each.
