Drug Formulation

4 liang of Mu Mantou (the substance used to make Mu Lian tofu; use the skin, not the seeds; a variety called Shi Lian, which has no seeds, is even better; sun-dried), 2 liang of dried ginger, 1 liang of Bai Cao Shuang (potash; it must come from a household that burns firewood to be effective), 1 liang of Xue Yu (women’s hair), 1 liang of flat cypress leaves (sun-dried), 1 liang of black plum, and 1 liang of aged zongzi.

Source

From *Compilation of Miraculous and Effective Formulas*, Volume 2.

Processing

Except for the Bai Cao Shuang, which does not require calcination, all other ingredients should be stored in a clay jar and calcined to preserve their properties, then ground into a fine powder. Add 4 qian of Cinnamomum cassia bark and 1 liang of Angelica dahurica, also ground into a fine powder, and mix thoroughly with the previous powder. Use glutinous rice flour mixed with vinegar to form a paste, then roll into pills the size of a Paulownia seed.

Benefits

Hemorrhoids with fistula.

Instructions for Use

Take 3 qian per dose on an empty stomach with rice water. This formula is remarkably effective. Even in the most severe cases, taking two full doses guarantees a cure.

Note

After recovery, abstain from sexual activity for 100 days; even in very mild cases, abstain for one or two months, otherwise recurrence is likely. Fresh ginger is highly likely to trigger hemorrhoids; those with hemorrhoids should avoid it. Sophora seeds are highly effective at cooling the blood; those with hemorrhoidal fistulas or intestinal wind may drink them frequently as a tea substitute.
