Drug Formulation

28 Mylabris beetles (roasted with wheat bran; heads, wings, and legs removed), 2 qian Schizonepeta spikelets (lightly roasted), 2 qian black Pharbitis seeds (lightly roasted), 2 qian white silkworm pupae (roasted; silk threads and mouthparts removed).

Grind the above ingredients into a fine powder.

Instructions for Use

Take 1 qian per dose, mixed with hot wine at the fifth watch. By the hour of Si, the toxic matter should be expelled, resulting in a permanent cure. If it is not expelled on the same day, take another dose the following day.If it still does not pass, at the fifth watch of the third day, first eat one bowl of glutinous rice porridge, then take the medicine; the toxic mass will certainly be expelled. If, after taking the medicine, urination feels difficult, immediately prepare a decoction of lampwick and mix it with 2 qian of ground amber powder to take; the malignant mass will then be expelled through urination. The ground amber powder must be ground and prepared in advance for immediate use.

Note

Do not take this formula if the pulse is firm and涩 (thready) or洪大无力 (forceful yet weak).
