Benefits

For mental confusion and oppression, eye pain, heart weakness and leg weakness, inability to walk, beriberi, lung disorders, hernias, cough, and diabetes with excessive thirst.

Instructions for Use

Carefully select all the above herbs; choose the finest, firm local soil, scrape and prepare them according to standard methods, then weigh them in jin and liang.Pound each separately, sift through a horsehair sieve, mix thoroughly, and resift, ensuring all ingredients are well blended without any clumps. Separately, take yellow and white paper mulberry bark (including both white bark and root), finely chop it, boil to extract a concentrated decoction, and mix it into the mixture until the consistency is just right; then pound it further in a mortar.Make a separate bamboo paddle, 2.5 inches in circumference and no more than 2 fen thick; adjust the size and thickness as needed at the time of preparation. There are no strict specifications here; simply shape the mixture by hand into cakes. Punch a hole in the center of each cake, dry them in the sun, and string about 100 cakes together to form a “chuan.” Thread them with a rope made of ramie vines; bamboo strips may also be used. It is best to hang them in a well-ventilated, shaded area.If you wish to use them as a decoction, roast them over charcoal until fragrant and cooked through, taking care not to burn them. Then pound them into a fine powder in a mortar. Take as much as needed at any time to brew as a tea substitute. Generally, adjust the strength to your preference; add a little salt while boiling and stir frequently for a smooth, delicious result. Adding salt, tangerine peel, and black pepper is also excellent.
